Maqueda is an independent Italian brand that celebrates the beauty of decay, the life-affirming nature of pain, and the juxtaposition of the sinister with the sublime. Butterflies are bats, faces are masks, dreams are reality. Mystery is everywhere, and nothing is for certain. Maqueda believes the most intimate olfactory experiences should be destabilising — energies that lead us to our most secret and perverse places.

The founder is inspired by rituals of alchemy — putrefaction leading to purification, annihilation of the old to create the new. Maqueda makes outer scents for inner demons. Smell like your darkness.
